Committees seek additional members

WIN’s three committees are seeking new and returning members! If you are interested in learning more about how WIN works, getting to know WIN members by working on projects with them, and generally helping WIN move forward, let us know which committee is of interest to you.

No experience is required! Here’s a short summary of what the committees do:

Education Committee

2020 Chair: Susan Rosenlof; Chair-elect: Meg Lauerman

  • Organize events to promote awareness and understanding of the Nebraska nonprofit community and University of Nebraska projects
  • Identify and recruit keynote speaker for annual WIN Grant Awards Celebration
  • Promote skill building and informational programming related to philanthropy
  • Research and disseminate information on lectures and special educational events sponsored by other groups on WIN-related topics

Grants Committee

2020 Chair: Cassie Kohl; Chair-elect: TBD

  • Help inform nonprofits and university entities about WIN’s grant program
  • Accept and review letters of inquiry from nonprofits and university entities
  • Invite selected applicants to submit full proposals
  • Review proposals and select projects advancing to site visits in July
  • Determine project finalists to be included on ballot for members and assist in informing members about the projects
  • Evaluate and improve the grants process after each grant cycle
  • Audit impact reports from past grant recipients

Membership Committee

2020 Chair: Ann Bruntz; Chair-elect: TBD

  • Promote WIN through social gatherings and networking opportunities
  • Facilitate new member orientation
  • Plan new member recruitment events and activities throughout the year
  • Work with Education Committee to develop programs that engage and educate members and guests
  • Reach out to current members to encourage their continuing participation in WIN
