Yes! We encourage you to attend a WIN event to meet members and hear about what WIN does. All members are invited to all events, but attendance is optional. Nearly all WIN events allow members to bring a friend to introduce them to WIN.

You can join WIN any time of the year that works for you. Members in good standing as of June 30 (having made a minimum contribution of $500 since the previous July 1) have the option to vote on the grants awarded in the fall. You may join in any month and will receive reminders in that month if you pay in a single installment, or you can arrange recurring gifts for your membership.

There are no required meetings. You choose how involved you want to be and can attend any events or join any committees based on your availability.

WIN members tend to be busy women. All committees have used blended live/Zoom technology to allow members to participate in committee meetings and some events wherever you are.

  • The Membership Committee meets quarterly and works to spread the word about WIN to potential members. It sponsors social gatherings throughout the year.
  • The Education Committee has quarterly meetings and sponsors events on topics of interest to members, ranging from programs about family philanthropy to public health, visiting special exhibits and gathering before or after programs at the University of Nebraska.
  • The Grants Committee has four meetings timed to the grant application cycle, and participates in site visits with grant seekers. Members review letters of inquiry and invite selected projects to submit full proposals before narrowing the field of applicatns for site visits and eventually the WIN ballot.

Every member chooses how involved they want to be. Every members is invited to social and educational events, has the opportunity to be on a committee and, of course, votes for the grant recipients.

Yes. You choose how much and where you want to be involved. Committee membership is a great way to get acquainted with other members and with WIN’s mission.

Yes. Each year we have several people who sponsor a relative, friend, colleague or student as a WIN member. Sponsored members have all the opportunities and the option to vote on grants just like other members. You can sponsor a member the same way you join WIN with the links below. Or contact Ellie Clinch at WIN @nufoundation.org for more information.

Please make your check out to the UNF Charitable Gift Fund and note WIN in the memo line or include the printable membership card in the mail link below. WIN is sponsored by the University of Nebraska Foundation in partnership with the UNF Charitable Gift Fund. This allows WIN many benefits, including the option to split our grants between University of Nebraska and Nebraska nonprofit organizations.

Chances are, you have already made a charitable gift in your life, even if you do not think of yourself as a philanthropist. As a WIN member, you learn from others who share your interest in philanthropy. Our members join with a wide array of experience with giving. It is no surprise that women interested in philanthropy are also willing to share their wisdom and experience with each other.

All WIN members have equal opportunities to vote, serve on committees and attend WIN functions. WIN was created by and for women philanthropists who wanted to see more impact with these kinds of gifts. As with most things in WIN, your giving level is your choice. We greatly appreciate the Silver, Gold and Platinum members who build the grant amounts that WIN is able to award and recognize those who choose to give at higher levels to create larger WIN grants.

If you choose to make your gift via check, simply mail it to WIN, University of Nebraska Foundation, PO Box 82555, Lincoln, NE 68501
