Grants Committee changes timeline, loosens criteria for grant recipients

Chair: Cassie Kohl
Chair-elect: TBD
Immediate Past Chair: Linda Hoegemeyer
Next meeting: TBD in July, 3:30 p.m.
Location: Video conference
The Grants Committee met June 15 to review the 15 grant proposals submitted and selected eight (four university and four nonprofit) projects to advance to site visits. Site visits, which were previously postponed to July, will be conducted using Zoom and, if possible, could include representative in-person visits. This will be reviewed around July 1 for specific plans. A committee meeting will be scheduled after the site visits to select the finalists to appear on the WIN ballot in August. Due to the change in the grants schedule, voting has been condensed to a 10-day period starting Aug. 1.

The Education Committee met May 18 to continue plans for the 2019–2020 Grant Awards Celebration and other program opportunities. We are now working with a speaker to set the date for the celebration and exploring additional program ideas during this time when we cannot gather in person.
